ContactsMy daughter Joanne and I have created this commemorative website from our interest in the fate of my father, a Frankston man named John Render. He was a member of Lark Force and was sent to New Britain in 1941. He lost his life in July 1942 with the sinking of the Montevideo Maru. Our aim is to raise the profile of this often neglected theatre of war by putting faces and families to the names on the memorials and reminding our fellow Australians of the circumstances in which these people lost their lives. We are compiling an extensive list of resources about the islands of New Guinea before, during and after the war and we are inviting people to write memoirs about their family involvement with this area. If you have any information you would like to contribute then please email us at lostlives@jje.info. Jenny Evans, April 2003
