People - David Render
Born: 24 July 1914 Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Died: 1 July 1942. Son of David and Mary Elizabeth (nee Spence) Render; husband of Lorna May Elizabeth (nee Dawes) Render, of South Yarra, Victoria. David Render Snr emigrated from York, England in January 1913 on the Aberdeen White Star Line S.S. Moravian, leaving the Port of London for Sydney, Australia. His wife, Mary, emigrated nine months later on the S.S. Hawkes Bay with their four daughters ranging in age from two to eight. David Snr worked as a labourer at various locations such as Moorooduc, Icy Creek and for some time with Porter's Market Gardens off Browns Road in the outer area of Bentleigh. David Jnr was born in 1914, followed by twins, a boy and a girl who both died, and two more daughters in 1922 and 1924. While a young man David rode his bicycle to Sydney and back. Unfortunately there are no records or family knowledge of David Jnr's occupation prior to his enlistment in the army. Related EntriesResourcesSee also
